How would you respond if an executive challenges a metric you've presented?
Model answer
Model answerAn executive challenging a metric is a gift. It usually means one of three things: they don't trust the data source, they disagree with the definition, or they have context that changes the interpretation. My response is never defensive. I say: 'That's an important challenge — walk me through your concern.' Then I listen. If they're right, I update the metric. If they're wrong, I explain the methodology and offer to validate together.
